Job description
• We are seeking a Board-Certified Cardiac Anesthesiologist for a high-priority locum assignment in Miami, FL.
• This opportunity offers exposure to a wide range of cardiac and surgical cases within a large hospital system.
• Ideal candidates must be comfortable with cardiac anesthesia procedures and able to follow a 2 weeks on / 1 week off schedule.
Required Experience
• Cardiac anesthesia experience required
• Comfortable managing cardiac and complex surgical cases
• Experience with supervision and independent case management preferred
Job Responsibilities
• Manage cardiac cases including CABG, Valves, TAVR, MitraClip, LAA ligation, and EP procedures
• Supervise and perform anesthesia cases as required
• Participate in weekday, weekend, and call coverage rotation
• Collaborate with surgical teams, APPs, and hospital staff
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Medaxion EMR
• Adhere to hospital protocols and patient safety standards
Qualifications
• Board Certified in Anesthesiology required
• Active Florida Medical License required (or ability to obtain)
• DEA registration required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Clean background with no pending clinical or legal issues
• Ability to provide 24 months of case logs within 5 days of credentialing approval
Working Hours
• Shift Options: 7a–3p, 7a–5p, or 7a–7p
• Weekend and call coverage required
• Must follow 14 days on / 7 days off rotation
• Minimum 20 shifts per month
Skills
• Strong clinical judgment in high-acuity settings
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to adapt in fast-paced surgical environments
• EMR proficiency (Medaxion preferred)
