Position Overview
Seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Anesthesiologist with cardiac experience for a high-acuity hospital-based locum opportunity in a Level I Trauma Center. This role provides exposure to a diverse and complex cardiac surgical case mix, working alongside surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality perioperative care.
This is a full-time, weekday surgical anesthesia role with no call requirements, ideal for physicians seeking steady high-level OR work in a major hospital system.
Schedule
- Full-time coverage
- 4–5 shifts per week
- 10-hour shifts (varies by assignment):
- 6:15 AM – 4:45 PM
- 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Monday–Friday schedule
- No call required
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia services for cardiac and complex surgical cases
- Work across a wide range of OR and procedural settings
- Deliver perioperative care in collaboration with surgeons and specialty teams
- Manage anesthesia for diverse patient populations (all ages)
- Support high-acuity cases within a Level I Trauma environment
Practice Details
- Setting: Acute care hospital
- EMR: Epic
- Hospital Size: 593-bed facility
- Case Mix: Cardiac + broad surgical specialties
- Environment: High-volume, multidisciplinary surgical services
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
- Active Pennsylvania license required (or willing to license)
- ACLS and PALS required
- Minimum 2 years' experience preferred
- Strong cardiac anesthesia experience highly desirable
