Job description
A full-time permanent Cardiac Anesthesiologist opportunity is available in Albany with St. Peter's Health Partners and Anesthesia Group of Albany, PC, the largest anesthesia group in the Albany-Troy-Saratoga region.
Physicians will practice at St. Peter's Hospital and Samaritan Hospital, supporting a growing cardiac surgery program with three newly added cardiac surgeons.
This role is based in a high-volume inpatient heart center featuring 30 operating rooms. Cases are primarily cardiac and vascular, with no OB or trauma responsibilities. Physicians are not required to supervise CRNAs.
Open to H-1B visa candidates (cannot accept J-1 waivers). Not accepting locums candidates.
Job Responsibilities
• Manage 6–8 cardiac cases per day on average
• Participate in pre-operative evaluations and post-operative cardiac care
• Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams
• Contribute to development and improvement of anesthesia protocols
• Deliver general and regional anesthesia across cardiac and vascular cases
• High-volume inpatient cardiac center
• 30 operating rooms
• Variable shifts: 8, 10, or 12 hours
• Call rotation: 1:5 (first call every eighth night), no second call
• No CRNA supervision required
• Patient population: primarily adult and geriatric, some pediatric
Qualifications
• ECHO Board Certified and/or completion of Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship (completed prior to start)
• Cardiac Fellowship training highly preferred
• Active New York medical license (or willingness to obtain)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS (by start date)
• NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days at presentation)
• Candidates with lapsed board certification will not be accepted
• Must reside more than 30 miles from facility
• Visa status must be disclosed at submission
