A major health system in the Kansas City metropolitan area is seeking a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist for an ongoing locum assignment. The department is open to cardiac or non-cardiac anesthesiologists, offering a diverse case mix within a Level I Trauma environment and a medically supervised CRNA model. This is an excellent long-term opportunity for physicians who thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented OR setting.
Job Responsibilities
Supervise CRNAs and participate in medical-direction workflows.
Perform CV anesthesia when qualified or opt out if non-cardiac.
Participate in trauma and OB rotations.
Conduct pre-op assessments, intra-op management, and post-anesthesia evaluations.
Document accurately in Meditech and Medaxion.
Qualifications
Active Missouri medical license.
Active DEA with MO address.
ACLS, BLS, ATLS certifications.
Experience in high-acuity OR settings strongly preferred.
Cardiac experience welcome but not required.
Working Hours
Assignment: Ongoing
Rotating days, evenings, nights, and trauma-based coverage
Inpatient, OR, and trauma service lines within a large metro hospital
Skills
Trauma and OB comfort; ability to manage emergent cases
CRNA supervision experience
Optional: cardiovascular anesthesia skills if applicable
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
