A high-acuity cardiac anesthesia opportunity is now open in Galloway, NJ for an experienced Anesthesiologist comfortable with complex surgical cases and supervision of CRNAs. This role offers flexible scheduling, a supportive environment, and a chance to transition to perm if desired.
📝 Job Description
Join a busy, hospital-based anesthesia team providing coverage for a wide range of surgical specialties. You will handle advanced cardiac, thoracic (non-open heart), and vascular cases, along with regional and general anesthesia. The role includes optional night and weekend call, with shift lengths based on the surgical schedule.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia for:
- General adult surgery
- Open heart anesthesia
- Thoracic (excluding open heart)
- Complex vascular cases
- Regional, spinal, and IV regional anesthesia
- Perform & manage:
- TEE
- PA catheter insertion
- Arterial and central lines
- Ventilation management
- Supervise CRNAs during cases
- Use Cerner EMR for documentation
- Collaborate with surgical and critical care teams
- Support a Level II trauma environment
✨ Position Highlights
- 📅 Start: As Soon as credentialed
- 🕒 Schedule: 8-hr or 12-hr shifts starting at 7 AM
- 📞 Call: Optional night/weekend call available
- 🏥 Setting: Full hospital-based anesthesia service
- ⚙️ Trauma Level: II
- 🧭 Locum or Locum-to-Perm options
- ✈️ Travel Covered: Flights, hotel, rental car, mileage (IRS rate)
✅ Requirements
- ✔️ Board Certified in Anesthesiology
- ✔️ Active New Jersey Medical License
- ✔️ ACLS & BLS (AHA)
- ✔️ Proficiency in open heart, thoracic (non-open heart), & complex vascular anesthesia
- ✔️ Experience with TEE, PA catheters, arterial & central line placement
- ✔️ Experience supervising CRNAs
- ✔️ Clean malpractice history
- ✔️ Ability to start credentialing immediately (45–60 days)
- ⭐ Preferred: Fellowship in Cardiac Anesthesia
- ⭐ Preferred: Experience with Cerner EMR
