Job Responsibilities

  • Administer anesthesia for complex surgical cases including cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries
  • Perform procedures such as IV regional anesthesia, plexus anesthesia, ventilation management, and regional anesthesia
  • Supervise Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs)
  • Utilize skills in open heart anesthesia, TEE, PA catheter, arterial line, and central line insertions
  • Document efficiently using the Cerner EMR system

Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Anesthesiology [REQUIRED]
  • Active New Jersey Medical License [REQUIRED]
  • ACLS and BLS Certifications [REQUIRED]
  • Fellowship in Cardiac Anesthesia [PREFERRED]
  • Proficiency in open heart, thoracic (non-open heart), and complex vascular cases [REQUIRED]
  • Experience supervising CRNAs [REQUIRED]
  • Experience with Cerner EMR [PREFERRED]

Working Hours

  • Schedule varies with hospital surgical needs including night and weekend calls
