Shift: M-W-F 6:30 am–3:00 pm; T-Th 7:00 am–3:30 pm — will stay later if needed for non-cardiac cases or unfinished cardiac cases.
Start Date: July 28, 2025 (with additional coverage dates through January 2, 2026)
End Date: January 2, 2026

Position Details:
Patient Population: Adolescent, Child, Adult, Geriatric (very sick children are sent elsewhere).
Setting: Hospital-based practice at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center; may occasionally oversee CRNAs at ASC if no cardiac cases are scheduled.
Responsibilities: Solo cardiac cases; must assist with general cases when no cardiac surgeries are scheduled; supervise CRNA students as needed.
Required Procedures: Must be TEE Certified (must be able to place, read, interpret, and bill TEE procedures). Cardiac surgeries ~90/year projected.
EMR System: Cerner (moving to EPIC); some paper charting.
Support Staff: 6 anesthesiologists in practice; CRNA students may rotate.
Days Per Month: Varies based on scheduled dates.
On-Call/Weekends: Not required

Submission Requirements:

• Board Certified in Cardiac Anesthesiology — Preferred (will consider Board Eligible)

• Active Iowa license or IMLC — REQUIRED (must upload LOQ at time of name clear)

• TEE Certified — REQUIRED (placement, read, interpret, and bill)

• Cardiac Fellowship — Preferred (or extensive experience if TEE certified)

• BLS, ACLS, PALS — REQUIRED

• COVID Vaccinated — REQUIRED

• Must be available for all requested coverage dates — REQUIRED
