A well-established medical group in North Central Iowa is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 3 years) Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join a high-performing team providing full-spectrum anesthesia services at a modern hospital and affiliated ASC.

This is a full-time, hospital-based position offering a unique mix of cardiac and general anesthesia cases, along with opportunities for procedural leadership and CRNA oversight.

Position Overview:

• Team Structure: 7 Anesthesiologists + 12 CRNAs

• Cases Covered: Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Neuro, Ortho, OB, Pediatric (non-complex), General

• Call Responsibilities:

  • Cardiac call: Monday–Thursday rotation

  • General call: Approx. 6 weekends/year + 1 holiday/year

• Workload:

  • 1 cardiac case/day (not every day)

  • 5–7 general cases/day when not covering cardiac

• CRNA Oversight: Yes (in both hospital and ASC settings when needed)

• Trauma: Level II ER; no pain clinic

• ORs in Use: 8

Candidate Requirements:

• Board Certified/Eligible in Anesthesiology – Required

• Cardiac Fellowship and/or TEE Certified (must be able to read, interpret, and bill TEE, not just place probe) – Required

• Iowa License or IMLC Eligibility – Required

• Iowa CSR & DEA – Required

• BLS, ACLS, PALS – Required

• COVID Vaccination – Required

Compensation & Benefits:

• Total compensation package: $575,000

  • Base salary + benefits

• Sign-on Bonus: $50,000 (with 3-year commitment)

• Student Loan Repayment: Up to $100,000

• Relocation Allowance: Up to $10,000

• CME:

  • $10,000 annual allowance

  • 8 weeks of total time off (includes CME)
