We are seeking a Locum Tenens Physician - Cardiac Anesthesiology in Iowa.

Shift: M-W-F 6:30 am–3:00 pm; T-Th 7:00 am–3:30 pm (may extend based on caseload)
Start Date: June 9, 2025
End Date: Ongoing intermittent dates through end of year
Position Details:
Patient Population: Adolescent, Child, Adult, Geriatric
Setting: Hospital-based (occasional ASC oversight if no cardiac cases)
Responsibilities: Cardiac and general anesthesia cases; participation in a growing cardiac surgery program
Required Procedures: Cardiac anesthesia, TEE (read, interpret, and billable proficiency required)
EMR System: Cerner (transitioning to EPIC), some paper charting
Support Staff: 6 anesthesiologists; may work with CRNA students
Days Per Month: Based on scheduled weeks (June 9, July 7, July 31, August – except last week, Sept 1, Dec 26 & 29)
On-Call/Weekends: None
Submission Requirements:

Board Certified in Cardiac Anesthesiology – Preferred (Board Eligible considered)

Active Iowa license or IMLC – Required (Must upload LOQ at name clear)

TEE Certified (able to read, interpret, and bill TEE) – Required

Iowa CSR – Required
-
DEA – Required
-
Cardiac Fellowship – Preferred (extensive experience acceptable with TEE certification)

BLS, ACLS, PALS – Required

COVID Vaccinated – Required
