Shift:

• M-W-F: 6:30 am - 3:00 pm
• T-Th: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (may stay later if needed for non-cardiac cases or if cardiac cases are unfinished)

Position Details:

• Patient Population: Adolescent, Child, Adult, Geriatric
• Setting: Hospital
• Responsibilities:
  • Provide anesthesia for general cases, cardiac, thoracic, vascular, neuro, ortho, pediatric, and OB cases.
  • Oversee CRNAs.
  • Provide cardiac surgeries and cardiac call Monday–Thursday.
  • General weekend call: 6 weekends per year and one holiday per year.
  • Help cover general cases if no cardiac cases are scheduled.
• Required Procedures: Must be fellowship-trained in Cardiac Anesthesiology and TEE Certified.
• EMR System: Cerner (transitioning to EPIC, some paper documentation)
• Support Staff: 7 Physicians, 12 CRNAs
• Days Per Month: Varies based on schedule
• On-Call/Weekends: General weekend call (6 weekends/year, 1 holiday/year)

Submission Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiac Anesthesiology (Required)
• Iowa license or IMLC (Required)
• TEE Certification (Required)
• Iowa CSR (Required)
• DEA Verbal Confirmation (Required)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS (Required)
• COVID Vaccinated (Required)
