APP Clinical Leader Cardiology Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant opening in Norwich, CT APP Leadership | Inpatient/Outpatient Cardiology | Program Development | Quality Improvement A regional Heart and Vascular program in Norwich, Connecticut is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to serve as an APP Clinical Leader for its Cardiology team. Opportunity Highlights:
- Cardiology APP leadership role supporting both inpatient and outpatient practice settings
- Provide clinical care as a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Oversee and support an APP team working with general cardiologists and non-invasive procedural cardiologists
- Responsibilities include clinical supervision, work assignments, scheduling, training, competency monitoring, and performance support
- Lead quality goals, patient-care improvement efforts, documentation review, and outcomes-focused initiatives
- Support APP onboarding, education, coaching, team building, and professional development
- Assist with policy and procedure development related to cardiology patient care
- Participate in interviews, hiring recommendations, annual evaluations, and performance feedback
- Serve as a liaison between APPs, physicians, nursing, medical staff, practice management, and leadership
- Address patient, family, and staff concerns as needed
- Cardiac device knowledge preferred

- Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- Master’s degree from an approved PA or Nurse Practitioner/APRN program
- Connecticut Advanced Practice Provider license, or eligibility
- DEA required
- Certification or eligibility as a PA or Nurse Practitioner/APRN
- ACLS and BLS certification required
- 5+ years of clinical experience required
- 3+ years of Cardiology experience preferred
- Background in business management and/or leadership preferred
- Ability to support both inpatient and outpatient cardiology practices
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and quality-improvement skills
