•• Seeking dynamic and experienced surgical oncologist to serve as clinical leader for the Programs

•• Responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure delivery of excellent cancer care and optimal treatment outcomes

• Primary Focus: Surgical Oncology - Melanoma & Sarcoma

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Medical Director for our Hospital Cancer Institute’s Melanoma and Sarcoma Programs will provide leadership; advance technology and surgical innovation; and continue to build upon and support the established Programs’ commitment to excellence for patients diagnosed with melanoma, sarcoma, and other skin-related diseases. This individual will collaborate with our providers, staff and administrators to create/maintain a culture of patient centeredness – emphasizing quality, safety and efficiency. Additionally, the Medical Director will actively promote our multidisciplinary approach to patient care as a local, regional and national leader in innovative and collaborative models of care.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Board-certified general surgeon
• Fellowship training in surgical oncology
• 5-8 years of clinical experience preferred
• Proven track record of successful leadership in a progressive academic medical center or community hospital
• Experience and commitment to cancer research and clinical trials is highly desirable

MELANOMA AND SARCOMA PROGRAMS

Our Melanoma and Sarcoma Programs offer a full continuum of care that encompass the entire patient experience. Team members meet weekly to discuss each patient’s treatment options and agree upon a highly personalized treatment plan, incorporating the latest in technology and research.

Program goals include:

•• Serve our community members by providing leadership in prevention, screening, education and survivorship
•• Improve knowledge, understanding, and outcomes via patient-centered research
