Job description Health Care Partners of South Carolina, a CIMS network center, is looking for its next Chief Medical Officer to join its team! The Chief Medical Officer is appointed by and responsible to the Chief Executive Officer as the chief medical officer of the health center and is charged with providing leadership in all areas relating to the clinical operation of the health center. The Chief Medical Officer is responsible for recommending and implementing clinical I policies and procedures; supervising the clinical staff in their medical, nursing, and administrative duties; insuring continuous quality improvement in all clinical activities; and acting as an integral part of the management team of the health center.

Job Responsibilities

• Participates in the clinical program of the organization according to the guidelines established for all staff physicians of similar training and board certification. Provides outpatient care in the clinic and night and weekend calls. Maintains licensure in good standing in the state of SC.
• organizes the clinical staff and resources in carrying out the health care program of the health center.
• Leads the health center's recruiting efforts for all clinical staff including physicians, mid-level providers, allied health personnel, and nurses.
• Makes recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer regarding the employment, promotion, transfer, and discharge of all clinical staff and directly conducts the implementation of all decisions relating to the employment of these staff members.
• Specifies the responsibilities, authority, and working relationships among the clinical staff including appointing clinic directors, lab directors, quality assurance directors, quality assurance coordinators, and any other clinical or administrative positions involving the clinical staff
• Provides for a clear and effective flow of information between the clinical staff and the management team by conducting monthly staff meetings.
• Determines the hospital call schedule and the clinic schedules.
• Makes recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer regarding the purchase of equipment and supplies needed to provide patient care.
• Responsible for the QI/QA Plan for the organization.
• Supervise the quality assurance activities of the health center that relate to the clinical program including clinical care measures.
• Interviews, selects, and supervises the Quality Assurance Coordinator to direct the formal quality assurance activities of the organization.
• conducts annual performance evaluations of all clinical staff.
• Participation, with the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Finance Officer, as an integral part of the management team of the health center.
• Advises and assists the Chief Executive Officer in all major decisions regarding policy and procedures.
• Oversee and implement PCMH as well as train staff and the organization
• Advises and assists the Chief Executive Officer in all financial matters related to billing and collections.

Qualifications

• A physician's license to practice medicine in the state of South Carolina.
• Current certification by the American Board of Family Practice or other appropriate specialty board.
• The ability to employ necessary management techniques in the on-going supervision of the clinical staff.
• The ability to analyze complex information and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• The ability to set priorities and to make decisions on critical health care programs and issues.
• Must be qualified in Basic Life Support techniques.
• Personal and professional qualities which will permit the Chief Medical Officer to work with the staff of the Health center in such a manner as to earn their confide nee and respect.
• The successful completion of training at an accredited medical school with a Medical Degree.
• MBA preferred.

Ability to work alongside clinicians and c-suite level executives. The Chief Medical Officer reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and has supervisory responsibility for all clinical staff and indirect supervisory responsibility for all clinic staff through clinic directors.
