The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) is seeking a full-time, board-certified/eligible Primary Care Physician with experience in Addiction Medicine and program development. The successful candidate will work in an outpatient setting at OSU Care Point East participating in OSU initiatives in Addiction Medicine, collaborating closely with the comprehensive drug and alcohol addiction recovery teams across the health system. This clinic will form the hub of a network-wide hub-and-spoke model for all primary care clinics within Family Medicine and General Internal Medicine. Important content areas closely aligned with a focus on common forms of substance use and addiction, including prevention, treatment, harm reduction, controlled substance prescribing, cannabinoids, stimulants, alcohol, and tobacco. The candidate will be expected to work collaboratively across various departments in the OSU Wexner Medical Center and graduate schools at OSU.
Our Primary Care practices are part of Comprehensive Primary Care Plus through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and are recognized as Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Homes (PCMH) by the National Committee of Quality Assurance. Additionally, our primary care practices offer multi-disciplinary, integrated team-based care with dieticians, behavioral health specialists, social workers, pharmacists, medical assistants, and nurses as part of the care team.

Qualifications:
  • Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Dual Certification or experience in the Behavioral Health field a plus
  • American Society of Addiction Medicine Certification a plus
  • Buprenorphine DATA waiver and addiction services experience required
  • Experience with health services research or patient-centered outcomes research a plus
  • Eligible for State of Ohio medical license
