A leading behavioral health provider in Fayetteville, North Carolina is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Addiction Psychiatrist to join a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care to individuals with substance use disorders. This position offers a dynamic mix of clinical practice, collaboration, and teaching opportunities in one of the largest behavioral health systems in the state.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans for addiction recovery
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurses, clinical social workers, and licensed counselors
Coordinate care with primary care providers and community organizations to ensure comprehensive treatment and follow-up
Participate in clinical supervision and mentoring of medical students and residents
Opportunity to serve as Core Faculty in a growing Psychiatric Residency Program
Support the improvement and development of addiction medicine protocols across the behavioral health system
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Fellowship training or board certification in Addiction Medicine or Addiction Psychiatry (preferred)
Eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina
Strong interpersonal, clinical, and communication skills
Interest in working in a team-based, academically-involved behavioral health setting
Working Hours
Clinical duties likely span Monday through Friday, with shared call responsibilities if part of the inpatient team
Split between inpatient and outpatient settings, offering some schedule variety
Opportunities for academic involvement may include additional time for teaching, supervision, or curriculum development

Proficiency in evidence-based treatment approaches, including pharmacotherapy (e.g., MAT) and psychotherapeutic interventions

Effective communication skills for patient care, family education, and coordination across care settings
Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
Ability to mentor and teach residents and medical students
Comfortable navigating electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation standards
Interest or experience in academic psychiatry and program development is a plus
