Part Time Addiction Physician Opportunity – Jackson, MS

(This is an on-site position)

This individual provides patient care, medical evaluation, and interacts as necessary with Federal, state, county & other regulatory bodies.

Our Organization is dedicated to helping individuals with their recovery from addiction with dignity and respect. Our goal is to assist our clients in achieving a healthier lifestyle free from illicit drug use. Our outpatient clinics provide medication assisted treatment using Methadone, to treat individuals struggling with opioid addiction.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of chemical dependency/Addictions
• Ability to assess patient’s physical/emotional condition in a short period of time
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with staff
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality, compliance with HIPAA policy and procedures
• Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, documents health history and examination results to meet Federal and state guidelines and refers patient for care elsewhere when indicated (including appropriate follow up)
• Supervises the administration of medications
• Confers with patient’s private physician as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Addiction Medicine (American Society of Addiction Medicine or American Board of Addiction Medicine)
  • Must have previous addiction medicine experience.
  • Current State & DEA licenses
  • Must be comfortable working witn patients prescribed methadone for SUD.
