Medical Director, Opioid Treatment Program

Rutland, Vermont

We are looking for a part-time (0.5 FTE) Medical Director to lead our Opioid Treatment Program in Rutland, Vermont. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the medical aspects of the clinic, including the provision of medical care to patients, supervision of clinical staff, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide medical care to patients, including prescribing Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) and conducting physical exams.

2. Supervise clinical staff and provide guidance on medical issues.

3. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, including those related to MOUD and substance abuse treatment.

4. Participate in the development and implementation of clinic policies and procedures.

5. Participate in staff meetings and other clinical team meetings.

6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.

7. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

1. MD or DO from an accredited medical school.

2. Active, VT unrestricted medical license.

3. Board certification or Board Eligible within five years of Residency/ Fellowship in either Psychiatry or Addiction Medicine.

4. At least 1 year of experience working in a substance abuse treatment setting (preferred but not required).

5. Strong knowledge of MOUD and substance abuse treatment.

6. Strong leadership and supervisory skills.

7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

8. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
