Summary Family Residency Program Supervising Program

1. Family Practice Residency Program →must be Board Certified Family Medicine Provider
   1. Prefer teaching experience
2. Start Date – As soon as credentialed – July 2019 (if possible)
3. 6 month assignment with possible extension
4. Full time physicians
5. A bonus would be if the full time doc would help with lecturing on an occasional Friday, support the residents in scholarly activity (writing case reports, quality improvements).
6. Clinic hours run from 8 am to about 5 pm
7. Supervising 2-4 residents each day, if resident is unexpectedly off, or running way behind, would expect physician to see a patient without the resident
8. ALL patients must be seen by the supervising physician, office notes must be reviewed and attested to by the supervising physician
9. Feedback given to resident and discussion with resident regarding pertinent clinical issues expected
10. Emphasis on following preventative care guidelines and practicing evidence-based medicine
11. Reason for locum need → Medical Leave/Retirement →current precepting physician
12. Computer System – Outpatient – GE Centricity / Inpatient - Cerner

1. Patient Mix – all ages →mainly adult population
2. Credentialing/privileges process can take 10-14 days if all documentation is completed & references contacted
3. Decision making process → quickly after phone interview with GME Director
