Alzheimer's Neurologist Faculty Member (15745BR)

Position Description

Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit. 15745BR

Major/Essential Functions

  • Will hold the endowed chair for "The Corinne Payne Wright Regents Endowed Chair in Alzheimer's Disease"
  • Well-versed in the diagnosis and management of neurological disorders in adults.
  • Join an active clinical and research program in Alzheimer's disease research in aging and dementia.
  • Appointment as the Primary Investigator (PI) of the 2 yr grant for the Texas Alzheimer's Research and Care Consortium (TARCC).
  • Develop a robust clinical practice with significant activity in research.
  • Involvement in medical student education and residency training program.
  • Participate in scheduled on-call coverage.
  • Must have strong Ethics and be a great TEAM player.

Required Qualifications

Must have completed an accredited adult Neurology Residency.
Current Texas Medical License OR eligible for State of Texas License.

Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer-reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to the candidate’s intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activity

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of a Fellowship program in Alzheimer's and/or Aging and Dementia.
