Lexington Health seeks an experienced and visionary physician leader to serve as Associate Program Director of our ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program. This role offers the opportunity to help lead a newly accredited residency program in a supportive, patient-centered, and academically rigorous environment.

The Associate Program Director is responsible for supporting the Program Director with strategic direction, leadership, and overall operation of the residency, ensuring compliance with ACGME and institutional requirements while advancing the mission of Lexington Health to provide outstanding healthcare and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help develop and implement curriculum, policies, and evaluation methods aligned with ACGME requirements.
  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty and residents, promoting excellence in education, patient care, and scholarly activity.
  • Oversee resident clinical schedules, supervision, and progressive responsibility.
  • Serve as role model and advocate for residents’ professionalism, wellness, and career development.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant institutional, state, and national regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership and physician network to integrate residency education with patient care.
  • Maintain program documentation, annual reports, and responses to ACGME and institutional reviews.
Qualifications:
  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine
  • Eligible for medical licensure in South Carolina
  • Minimum of 1 year of core faculty experience in an ACGME-accredited program (prior leadership strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated skill in teaching, leadership, and program administration
