Mercy Health is seeking a Family Medicine faculty physician to join Lighthouse Way Family Medicine in Toledo, Ohio. This role offers a fulfilling blend of patient care and academic engagement, allowing you to practice full-spectrum outpatient medicine while shaping the next generation of family physicians. As a core faculty member of the Family Medicine Residency Program, you’ll enjoy a collaborative and supportive environment where relationships—with patients, residents, and colleagues—are at the heart of daily practice. The position provides protected time for educational responsibilities and opportunities for leadership within a long-standing, stable residency program.
Job Responsibilities
Participate in inpatient rounding every 4–6 weeks (Thursday to Thursday).
Contribute to the academic and educational mission of the program through lectures, didactic sessions, recruitment, and mentorship.
Serve on key residency committees, including the Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) and Program Evaluation Committee (PEC).
Engage in scholarly activities and assist in curriculum and program development.
Participate in a consistent, pre-planned call rotation that allows flexibility and work-life balance.
Maintain credentialing at Mercy Health – Perrysburg Hospital and other Toledo Metro facilities.
Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited institution with completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program.
Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Ohio.
Strong interest in teaching, mentoring, and academic leadership.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skills.
Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care consistent with Mercy Health’s mission.
Working Hours
Monday–Friday schedule with balanced time between clinic, teaching, and administrative duties.
Rotating inpatient service every 4–6 weeks.
Structured call rotation with advance scheduling and flexible coverage options.
Skills
Strong teaching and mentoring abilities for residents and medical students.
Effective leadership and communication within a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in electronic medical records and comfort integrating evidence-based care.
Ability to contribute to curriculum development and program improvement initiatives.
