Mercy Health – Toledo is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Family Medicine physician to join Jefferson Family Medicine as a core faculty member with the Gandy Family Medicine Center | Mercy Health Toledo Family Medicine Residency Program. This full-time opportunity combines direct outpatient care with academic engagement, providing a meaningful balance of teaching, mentorship, and clinical service. You’ll be part of a supportive, mission-driven environment that values evidence-based medicine, collaboration, and the development of future family physicians.
Job Responsibilities
Precept residents and medical students in the continuity clinic and inpatient settings.
Provide outpatient primary care for a private patient panel approximately 1 to 1.5 days per week, depending on scheduling.
Participate in inpatient rounding every 4–6 weeks, from Thursday to Thursday.
Deliver lectures, lead didactic sessions, and assist with curriculum development.
Serve on residency committees, including Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) and Program Evaluation Committee (PEC).
Collaborate on quality improvement, residency recruitment, and scholarly activities.
Maintain high standards of professionalism and compassionate, community-focused care.
Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited medical school with completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program.
Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Ohio.
Strong interest and experience in teaching and academic medicine.
Excellent communication, leadership, and mentorship abilities.
Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care and the mission of Mercy Health.
Working Hours
Outpatient clinic Monday through Friday; 1 to 1.5 days dedicated to private patient care.
Rotating inpatient service every 4–6 weeks.
Minimal after-hours call responsibilities, with primary coverage by residents.
Protected time for academic and administrative duties.
Skills

Proficiency in Epic EMR and comfort with integrated behavioral health care models.
