The Physician Assistant provides high-quality clinical care for urology patients by managing all aspects of patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment within the scope of practice and applicable state regulations. This role works collaboratively with our urologists to ensure safe, effective, and efficient patient care, while demonstrating a friendly, courteous, and professional attitude at all times—as this role has front-line contact with patients and families.

Job Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including history, physical exams, and medical evaluations.

Formulate differential diagnoses and develop evidence-based treatment plans in conjunction with supervising physicians.

Manage day-to-day medical care of urology patients in the outpatient clinic, with appropriate physician collaboration and supervision.

Order, interpret, and follow-up on diagnostic tests, laboratory work, imaging, and other clinical studies as indicated.

Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatment options, preventive care, and follow-up instructions.

Assist with urology-specific procedures as trained and delegated (e.g., catheterizations, PVR studies, cystoscopies) and assist in office-based clinical procedures as appropriate.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record per practice standards.

Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, physicians, and the clinical team.

Participate in quality improvement efforts and workflow initiatives to enhance patient care.

Exhibit a friendly, caring, courteous, and professional manner with patients and families at all times.

Qualifications

Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program with a valid unrestricted license to practice issued by the Arizona Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants.
Degrees/credits must be from an academically accredited college or university as recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for the Higher Education (CHEA).
Good knowledge of medicine as related to medical examination, health history, the development of working diagnoses, and other areas as appropriate to the specific service provided.
Must have working knowledge of electronic health records
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Computer experience with EMR knowledge
