Urology APP opening in Connecticut Plainfield - 50 miles from Hartford Position Details * Full-time, permanent * NP or PA * Shift: Full Time, Monday – Friday Position Details: * Provides direct patient care in office consultations, including assessment, work-ups, triage, emergency work-ins, and other patient care activities, with a focus on kidney stones and general urologic conditions. * Obtains and documents health history, performs physical exams, and orders and interprets diagnostic tests. * Provides counseling to patients regarding diagnosis and expected course of treatment. * Collaborates with physicians to provide appropriate direct care interventions within scope of practice. * Collects, organizes, records, and discusses data using sound clinical judgment based on best practice standards and evidence-based medicine. * Prescribes pharmaceuticals according to patient needs and conducts follow-up and outreach. * Ensures timely retrieval of laboratory and ancillary studies and diagnostic consultation reports. * Consults with internal and external staff to make appropriate referrals for acute, chronic, and preventive care. * Coordinates patient care and visits with appropriate clinical and non-clinical staff. Qualifications: * National Certification in Advanced Practice with current CPR certification. * Current Connecticut APRN license with prescriptive authority and DEA number. * Minimum 2 years of experience (urology preferred). * Excellent clinical management skills with ability to work collaboratively and take initiative when appropriate. * Positive, patient-focused approach with commitment to excellent care. * Strong written and verbal communication skills; additional languages highly desirable. * Ability to communicate technical information clearly to patients of all ages. * Highly organized with ability to prioritize tasks autonomously. * Knowledge of computer systems and experience with medical software (Epic preferred). * Adheres to health system policies, HIPAA, OSHA, and Infection Control standards. * Demonstrates courtesy, helpfulness, and professional interactions with all internal and external customers. * Strong personal initiative with proactive goal achievement.
