• Assignment Length: 26 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $5,040 - $5,400
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Shift Time: Day shifts, typically 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Alternate Schedule: 5x8 scheduling may also be considered
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Weekend Requirement: At least 4 weekend shifts per month
• Call: No call required
• Orientation: 8 hours

Job Requirements

• Active California Physician Assistant license in hand at the time of submission
• DEA registration for California
• BLS and ACLS required
• ATLS preferred; must be willing to obtain ATLS within 1 year of start
• Minimum of 1 year of trauma experience required
• Level I trauma experience strongly preferred
• Experience with arterial lines, central lines, and chest tubes strongly preferred
• ICU experience is a major plus
• Background in neurosurgery, emergency medicine, or orthopedics will be considered
• Strong communication skills and responsiveness required due to credentialing and privileging timelines
• Not appropriate for providers seeking OR or first assist cases

Responsibilities

• Provide care for critically ill and injured patients across the ED, floor, ICU, and other acute care areas
• Support a high-volume trauma service with patient care needs ranging from admission through escalation of care
• Manage complex conditions including shock, acute coronary syndrome, stroke, neurosurgical concerns, and orthopedic injuries
• Collaborate with residents and the broader care team to help manage a busy patient load
• See a broad patient population, typically ranging from adolescents to older adults
• Be flexible to work primarily days, with occasional nights as needed
• Maintain clear communication throughout the credentialing and privileging process
