Med Ninjas is seeking a Physician Assistant for long term locum tenens coverage at a outpatient facility located in Richmond, VA
The Physician Assistant must be available for coverage 3 days per week as soon as credentialed until a permanent provider is hired.
This assignment includes outpatient clinic, onsite clinic coverage, urgent care, laceration repair, incision and drainage, foreign body removal, splinting and casting, joint reduction, X-ray interpretation, EKG evaluation, point-of-care testing, and no on call or weekend.

Shift: 8:00 AM–8:00 PM; 12+ hour shifts depending upon patient flow; 3 shifts/week
Start Date: As soon as credentialed
End Date: Ongoing

Position Details:
Patient Population: Birth to death; varies by clinic and day
Setting: Outpatient Clinic
Responsibilities: Urgent care coverage, evaluate patients arriving during clinic hours, manage episodic events and higher-acuity cases requiring transfer to a higher level of care
Required Procedures: Laceration repair, incision and drainage, foreign body removal, minor burn management, skin lesion care, orthopedic/injury stabilization, splinting and casting, joint reduction, diagnostic and point-of-care testing, X-ray interpretation, EKG evaluation, point-of-care lab interpretation, epistaxis management, cerumen impaction removal, airway support and initial emergency stabilization
EMR System: Epic
Days Per Month: 3 shifts per week
On-Call/Weekends: No call; weekend coverage required

Required Procedures and Skills

• Laceration Repair: Simple, intermediate, and complex suturing or stapling
• Incision and drainage (I&D), including packing
• Foreign Body Removal
• Minor Burn Management
• Orthopedic & Injury Stabilization, Splinting & Casting, Joint Reduction
• X-Ray Interpretation and EKG Evaluation
• Point-of-Care Testing and Lab Interpretation
• Epistaxis Management and Cerumen Impaction Removal
• Airway Support and Initial Emergency Stabilization

Requirements

• Board Certified – REQUIRED
• Active Virginia License – REQUIRED
• Active BLS – REQUIRED
• Active DEA – REQUIRED
• At least 1 year of experience in an ED/ER, primary care, or urgent care setting – REQUIRED
• Clean background with no malpractice or license issues
