• Weekly Estimated Pay: $5,460 - $5,850 (competitive locum tenens pay)

• Duration: 30 weeks (8–9 months)
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12?hour (19:00 - 07:00); weekends and holidays included — pediatric night shift PA

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a large Children’s Hospital PICU (ideally Level I) — pediatric critical care experience required
• Board certified Physician Assistant (PA?C) in Acute Care or equivalent
• Current DEA license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Epic EMR / Epic charting system experience required
• Willingness to obtain state licensure for Physician Assistants in California
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and family communication skills for pediatric patients (neonates, infants, children, adolescents)

Responsibilities

• Provide primary overnight care for up to 8 patients in the PICU DOU (NP/PA?run department without Fellows or Residents)
• Cover the PICU (16 beds) and Stepdown PICU (8 beds) during night shifts — pediatric critical care coverage
• Collaborate with PICU Attending, Fellows, and Residents in a shared care model for all patients
• Perform assessments, initiate and manage urgent interventions, and escalate care as appropriate
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and coordinate care with nursing, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and consultants
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with families and the care team; provide patient- and family-centered care
• Document patient care accurately and timely using Epic
