Locum - Physician Assistant (PA) - Urgent Care Martinsville, VA

Join a dynamic urgent care team as a Locum Physician Assistant dedicated to providing high-quality episodic and injury care across diverse patient populations, including adolescents, children, adults, and geriatric patients. This ongoing assignment offers the flexibility to work autonomously within a collaborative environment, ensuring exceptional patient outcomes while supporting your professional growth. Play a vital role in a well-equipped facility utilizing Anthem EMR, with supervision available via phone from an on-site physician. Your expertise will directly impact community health by delivering timely and compassionate care in a fast-paced setting.

Required Skills:
  • Valid Physician Assistant license in Virginia
  • Proven experience in Urgent Care and Occupational Health
  • Excellent clinical assessment and procedural skills (episodic care, injury treatment)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and patient management skills
  • Familiarity with Anthem EMR documentation system

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience with Occupational Health protocols
  • Ability to handle diverse patient age groups simultaneously
  • Bilingual capabilities to serve a broader patient demographic

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master's degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Urgent Care or similar environments
  • Prior experience working with Anthem EMR system is advantageous

Other Requirements:
  • Supervision provided by a licensed physician via phone during shifts
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
  • Mileage reimbursement for local providers at IRS Standard Rate, billed separately
  • Ability to start from March 19, 2026, and work ongoing as needed
