Job description

Job description We are seeking an experienced Urgent Care Physician Assistant for a 120-day locum tenens assignment in North Carolina. This opportunity begins on Dec 2, 2025, and features a rotating schedule with shifts on weekdays from 8 am to 8 pm and weekends from 8 am to 4 pm, including every other weekend. The provider will support both primary care and urgent care patient needs. Candidates must have at least one year of urgent care experience and be ready to obtain DOT certification within 60 days if not already held.

  • Schedule: 8 am–8 pm weekdays, 8 am–4 pm weekends, every other weekend; rotating shifts such as Week 1 (Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday) and Week 2 (Monday, Thursday, Friday)

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Provide urgent care and overflow primary care services to patients
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat a variety of acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Perform clinical procedures and minor interventions as needed within urgent care scope
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Document all patient encounters accurately using the Epic EMR system
  • Adhere to established clinical protocols and regulatory standards

Additional Information
  • Minimum one year of urgent care experience required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and DEA certifications required
  • North Carolina license required
  • DOT certification must be obtained within 60 days of starting (the client will cover the cost if not already certified)
  • Experience with the Epic EMR system preferred
