Advanced Practice Provider – Urgent Care Location: Wilton, CT Minimum 1 year Experience Urgent Care/Emergency Medicine Overview: An exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a leading Urgent Care team in Western Connecticut. This role offers the chance to practice the full scope of advanced practice medicine in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment, providing high-quality care to patients of all ages. Role Scope & Responsibilities: • Provide comprehensive urgent care services, including management of acute illnesses and minor injuries. • Perform and interpret EKGs. • Conduct venipuncture and peripheral IV line placement. • Administer intramuscular (IM) and intravenous (IV) medications. • Perform dressing changes and wound care management. • Conduct incision and drainage of simple abscesses. • Perform suturing and stapling of simple wounds and lacerations, and suture removal. • Apply splints and casts as indicated. • Conduct gynecological and pelvic exams. • Interpret preliminary X-ray findings. • Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals. • Conduct occupational, school, and sports physicals for pediatric and adult patients. • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to provide efficient, evidence-based patient care. Schedule & Practice Details: • Full-time, 38 hours per week with full benefits. • Rotating schedule during clinic hours: o Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM o Saturday–Sunday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM • Weekend shifts required on a rotational basis. • Practice locations include various Urgent Care centers across Western Connecticut, including Wilton and surrounding towns. Qualifications: • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) master’s program. • Current Connecticut license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. • National certification as a Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). • Minimum of one year of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or a similar clinical setting required. • Experience treating patients across all age groups—from pediatrics to geriatrics—preferred. • Urgent care or occupational health background strongly preferred.
