** Nurse Practitioner opening in Mississippi** - Located in coastal Gautier - 43 miles to Mobile, AL - 100 miles to New Orleans, LA - Walk-In Clinics - Days - Full Time Job Specifications: - Provides patient care services including the management various acute and chronic episodic problems within a fast-paced environment as allowed by scope of practice - Performs history and physical assessments of patients that are accurate, complete, concise, relevant and appropriate for age, gender and clinical problem - Orders appropriate diagnostic studies and correctly interprets the results - Perform minor surgical procedures including laceration repair, incision and drainage and foreign body removal - Perform splinting and casting for minor orthopedic injuries - Institutes care that might be required to stabilize a patients condition in an emergency or potentially life-threatening situation - Develops, implements, evaluates and alters the plan of care as needed; Collaborate with supervising physicians concerning patient care as appropriate - Manages general medical and surgical conditions based on knowledge of the indications, contraindications, side effects, interactions and adverse reactions of pharmacologic agents and other relevant treatment modalities - Evaluates patient medication regimen and prescribes pharmacological agents as allowed by Federal and State laws and authorized by licensing entity - Demonstrates proficiency in procedural skills pertinent to practice area - Maintains accurate, complete, concise and timely documentation in patients medical record - Correctly perform advanced procedures as allowed by state nurse practice act - Communicates and interacts with patients, families, and visitors of all age groups - Identifies expected patient outcomes in collaboration with patient, family, and other professionals - Identifies risk factors and provides health teaching and discharge planning for primary and secondary prevention - Serves as a resource for patients, families, and staff - Provides ongoing identification of best practices and implementation of those changes than lead to improved outcomes and greater effectiveness - Functions as a consultant and change agent for practice issues and quality improvement activities - Provides ongoing assessment and facilitation of Core Measure compliance, Joint Commission, and performance improvement efforts and implementation of appropriate changes - Contribute to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others upon request - Critically evaluate and modify existing practice based upon current research findings Required Qualifications: - Education: Master's Degree in a Nursing program from an accredited school of nursing with monitored clinic practice hours completed - Licensure: Professional Nurse Practitioner in Mississippi - Certification: Current Nurse Practitioner Certification - Experience: Two (2) years Clinical experience as a staff Registered Nurse (RN) Health System has been dedicated to healing, inspiring, and transforming the health of our community since 1946.
