Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant needed in Pennsylvania for ongoing inpatient, on call coverage supporting the heart team in surgery, with nights and weekends as the core coverage.

Practice Setting

• Inpatient coverage for an adult cardiothoracic surgery service
• Support role for the heart team in surgery, cardiothoracic surgery experience required
• Weekend expectations include rounding Saturday and Sunday, with subsequent on call coverage
• Support staff includes Level 2 trauma resources

Schedule

• Call coverage, nights and weekends, with possible weekday call
• Call is when needed, call ratio varies based on coverage needs
• Ongoing coverage needed as soon as credentialed, continuing until a permanent hire is in place

Cases and Procedures

• Pre op physical exams, coordination of care, rounding
• Chest tube insertions, suture removal
• Order tests and interpret results, diagnose and treat illnesses
• Assist in surgery, write prescriptions

Requirements

• Must be a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Active Pennsylvania license required, will not wait for license
• Board certification required, Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery CAQ
• BLS and ACLS required, clean background required
