Our SLUCare Physician Group cardiothoracic surgeons offer highly specialized treatments for children with congenital and acquired heart defects and lung diseases. Our heart team is nationally ranked by U.S. News & World Report for pediatric cardiology and heart surgery. This honor recognizes excellence in clinical services, survival rates, and support for patients with congenital heart problems. As part of an academic medical practice, our cardiothoracic surgeons use the latest techniques and technologies to deliver advanced care in collaboration with other pediatric specialists, including experts in cardiology, neonatology, and maternal-fetal medicine. We work with patients at all stages, including those diagnosed before birth, newborns, infants, children, teens, and even adults, to correct conditions affecting the heart and lungs. In addition to expertise, SLUCare cardiothoracic surgeons stand out for their genuine concern for young patients and their families. Job Highlights:
- Flexible full-time schedule of 4x10s or 5x8s
- Primary responsibilities of first assisting in the O.R. and the inpatient service
- Procedures performed include chest tube removal, pacing wire removal, central lines and wound vac management
- Call rotation responsibilities to cover IP/OR/ECMO
- Education with bedside nursing as well as patients/families
- We operate on patients, newborn through adulthood
- Join a collegial team of 3 pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons and 4 APPs

Your Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- PAs should have NCCPA certification
- Experience in cardiothoracic surgery desired or rotational experience in cardiothoracic surgery considered
- Proficiency in procedures including chest tube removal, pacing wire removal, central lines, and wound vac management
- Ability to obtain PA licensure in Missouri
- Passion for patient care
