A high-priority permanent opening is available for a Physician Assistant (PA) in Cardiothoracic Surgery in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO. This is a full-time role with a leading surgical team that offers competitive compensation, relocation assistance, and excellent benefits. Job Responsibilities
First assist in complex cardiac surgeries, including endoscopic vein harvesting.
Manage ICU and cardiovascular surgical patients, including rounding and evaluation.
Rotate through operating room coverage Monday–Friday.
Conduct outpatient clinic visits (2 full-day clinics weekly plus additional as needed).
Collaborate closely with surgeons, physicians, intensivists, and multidisciplinary staff.
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic and laboratory tests.
Prescribe medications and develop patient care plans.
Perform bedside procedures and ensure accurate clinical documentation.
Participate in shared 1:4–1:5 weekday and weekend call (NP covers overnight).
Qualifications
PA-C certification (NCCPA) – required.
3+ years of experience in cardiac/cardiovascular surgery and ICU patient management (or with vein harvesting & first-assisting).
Unrestricted DEA license with full prescriptive authority.
BLS certification (AHA/Red Cross) – required.
Eligible for Colorado state license and unrestricted medical staff membership.
Must be eligible for Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.
Clean malpractice record strongly preferred.
Working Hours
Call: 1:4–1:5 weekday and weekend call rotation; in-house NP covers 8:30pm–6:30am.
No locums or locums-to-perm options – permanent hire only.

Proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting and surgical first-assist techniques.
Ability to work independently under physician supervision.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $100,588 – $143,769 annually (commensurate with experience).
