Position Overview
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team as a First Assist. This role is crucial to our surgical team, supporting both scheduled and emergency cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Night call: 6:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend call: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM with morning rounds
- First Assist in CABG, Thoracic, AVR, TAVR, and Aortic cases
- Endoscopic vein harvesting
- Participate in scheduled surgical cases & on-call rotations
- Round on hospitalized patients and collaborate with the care team
- Work independently while maintaining excellent communication with surgeons
Qualifications
- Board Certified NP or PA
- Active Pennsylvania State License
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPR
- DEA license required
