Location: Santa Monica, California
Start Date: January 1, 2026 (or sooner if privileging completed early)
End Date: March 1, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM schedule available)
Coverage Type: Scheduled Clinical Hours Only
Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient
EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Active California license
  
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
  
• Minimum of 25 case logs within the last two years
  
• Must be proficient in Epic EMR
  
• Prior Surgical or GI Oncology experience strongly preferred
  
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  
• Local candidates preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient rounding and consults (including ER consults as needed)
  
• Support clinic operations, primarily on Tuesdays and Fridays
  
• Manage post-op follow-ups, patient calls, and results throughout the week
  
• Assist with in-basket messages, patient issues, and coordination of care
  
• Collaborate with another APP who primarily assists in the OR
  

• No nights, weekends, or call
  
• One-hour unpaid lunch per day
  
• 10–12 patients per day on average
  
• Must be proactive and able to manage patient load independently

• Providers must submit documentation within 5 days of receiving the application
  
• Estimated credentialing timeframe: 30–60 days
  
• No temporary privileges available

  Position Overview
  We are seeking an experienced Surgical/General Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to provide full-time locum coverage in Santa Monica, CA. The role involves a mix of inpatient rounding, clinic support, and consults, with no nights, weekends, or call required.
  The APP will work closely with a busy GI Cancer Surgery team within a high-volume surgical-oncology/general surgery practice located in a 1206D clinic inside the hospital. This is an excellent opportunity for a provider who is confident working autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
