Job description
First assist only. No clinic, no rounding, no orders, no call, no weekends. A leading surgical services group in Austin, TX is adding a physician assistant (PA-C) to first assist on neuro spine and orthopedic spine cases, Monday through Friday, with days where one or two cases being scheduled is normal. No multi-level scoliosis.
Position Highlights:
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 30-35 hours per week. No call and no weekend responsibilities. One or two cases in a day is common, and those days often end before 2pm.
- The work: First assist duties only, on neuro spine and orthopedic spine cases. No orders, no clinic, no rounding.
- Compensation: $135,000 - $150,000 per year based on experience, plus a $1,000 - $2,000 quarterly bonus.
- Experience required: At least one year of spine or neurosurgery first assist experience.
- Benefits: PTO, 401k with match, CME stipend and healthcare plans. Malpractice and tail coverage included. Relocation stipend and sign-on bonus offered.
- Advancement: PAs and NPs hold management roles inside the company, with salary adjustments to match.
- 1099 options: PRN arrangements are available.
