Locums – Rockford, Illinois, Neurosurgery NP/PA Job

Rockford, Illinois | Inpatient Focus | 12-Hour Shifts

• Locum tenens Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant position

• Seeking board certified or truly board eligible NP/PA

• ASAP – ongoing coverage need

• Minimum 1+ year post-training experience required

• Experience covering inpatient neurology service is a plus

• Primarily inpatient neurosurgery coverage, with occasional outpatient clinic support

• Collaborate with:

  • 2 Neurosurgeons

  • 1 additional APP

• Manage a shared inpatient census of approximately 20–25 patients

• Work closely with neurointerventional physicians

• Part of a Comprehensive Stroke Program

• 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

• Monday–Friday

• One weekend per month

• No call required

• Approximately 14 shifts open per month

• Round on neurosurgery inpatients

• Perform patient assessments and documentation

• Assist with care coordination and discharge planning

• Provide clinic support as needed

• Support inpatient neurology service when required

• Work collaboratively with neurosurgeons and interdisciplinary care teams

• Based in Rockford, a well-established regional medical hub in Northern Illinois
