Job description
We are currently seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) with a background in neurosurgery to provide night shift coverage for an established hospital-based neurosurgery program.
Job Details:

Position: Physician Assistant – Neurosurgery (Locum)

Shifts: 12-hour night shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)

Schedule: Flexible; up to 20 shifts per month

Call Requirement: Yes – in-house call; provider must be onsite for emergent cases

Setting: 100% inpatient hospital-based

Caseload:
-
Average surgeries per day: 3
-
Daily patient volume: 10–25 (includes 3–5 admissions and ~3 ICU patients)

Patient Mix:
-
Adult: 98%
-
Pediatric: 2%
-
Trauma: 90%
-
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
-
PA first assist experience highly preferred
-
Experience in the following areas is ideal:
-
General neurosurgery (adult & trauma)
-
Cerebrovascular (open, endovascular, aneurysm clipping)
-
Carotid or vertebral artery surgery
-
Spinal surgery with/without instrumentation
-
Placement of ICP monitors
-
Requirements:
-
Board Certification – Required
-
Active Colorado license or Compact license – Required
-
EMR Experience with EPIC preferred
-
Willingness to supervise when needed
