We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with strong Robotics Surgery experience for a high-paying General Surgery First Assist assignment at an acute care hospital in Potsdam, NY.

This is a full-time contract opportunity beginning September 2026 with potential call opportunities and consistent scheduling.

Schedule

• Tuesday–Friday
• 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• 4x10s
• 26-week contract
• Full-time coverage required

Optional Call Opportunities

• 1–2 weekend call rotations/month
  • Friday 5 PM – Monday 7 AM
  • Weekend rounding: 8 AM – 12 PM
• Optional weeknight call:
  • Up to 4 shifts/month
  • 5 PM – 7 AM

Position Highlights

This role includes a combination of:

• Surgical First Assist OR coverage
• Medical/Surgical floor coverage
• General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic patient care

Responsibilities include:

• Surgical assisting and robotic procedures
• Suturing, wound closure, hemostasis
• Patient positioning and intraoperative support
• Rounding and progress notes
• Orders, consults, and discharges
• Collaboration with surgeons and anesthesia teams

Requirements

✅ Robotics Surgery experience REQUIRED
✅ Minimum 2 years recent experience
✅ Active NY License in hand
✅ Board Certified NP or PA
✅ Epic experience required
✅ AHA BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications required
✅ Strong communication skills
