Job description
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Per Diem Physician Assistant to join an orthopedic/trauma team in Beaumont, TX. In this hospital-based role, you will support the delivery of 24/7 orthopedic and trauma care in collaboration with a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgery team. Candidates must have prior experience in orthopedics and/or trauma care and be comfortable working in a high-acuity environment.
Practice Setting
- Hospital-based orthopedic and trauma service
- Collaborative team including orthopedic trauma surgeons and APPs
- Care provided across ER, OR, and inpatient settings
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive orthopedic and trauma care across multiple settings
- Perform orthopedic consults and assist in surgical procedures
- Manage post-operative care, including rounding and discharges
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams
- Assist with splinting, casting, wound care, and procedural support
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation
- Maintain communication with attending physicians and nursing staff
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Assistant program
- Active Texas license (or ability to obtain)
- National certification
- 1–2+ years of experience in orthopedics, trauma surgery, or acute care required
- Strong procedural skills and comfort in high-acuity clinical settings
