This exciting locum tenens opportunity for a Physician Assistant specializing in surgical care involves working in a hospital setting in Potsdam, NY. You will collaborate with physicians and medical staff to provide top-notch patient treatment in the operating room and on surgical floors. This position offers a flexible schedule and the possibility of continued opportunities through the end of the year.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in surgical procedures by performing duties such as cauterizing, positioning patients, suturing, and hemostasis
  • Cover surgical floors, including patient rounding, progress notes, managing orders, discharges, and consults
  • Work primarily within General Surgery, OB/GYN, and Orthopedic departments

Qualifications

  • New York State License
  • Board Certified
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience

Working Hours

  • Days: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Call Shifts: Night and weekend availability required

Skills

  • Proficient in EPIC charting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with acutely ill adult patients
