Job description
A leading 495-bed acute care hospital in West Texas is seeking a Locums Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its Trauma & Acute Care Surgery team within a high-volume, Level II Trauma Center. This program is undergoing continued growth and will support a new surgical residency program launching July 2026, offering a dynamic clinical and academic environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced APP who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting and values a collaborative, team-based approach to patient care.
Program Highlights:
- Level II Trauma Center
- 495-bed full-service acute care hospital
Anticipated Annual Volumes:
- Trauma Activations: 1,618
- Trauma Admissions: 1,006
Acute Care Surgery (ACS) Operative Volume: 473
- Active development of a residency training program (launching July 2026)
- Collaborative, multidisciplinary care model with strong hospital support
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Board Certified (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA)
- Active or eligible for Texas licensure
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in trauma, acute care surgery, emergency medicine, critical care, or a related high-acuity setting preferred
- ATLS certification (or willingness to obtain) required
