We are seeking a skilled Physician Assistant to cover for approximately 8-10 weeks, assisting in both inpatient and operating room environments. This position provides unique exposure to a diverse range of surgical cases with varied shifts, including no on-call responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in surgical oncology and general surgery cases in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Act as first assist in operating room procedures, particularly on designated block and case days
  • Manage patient consultations and calls, ensuring comprehensive care
  • Collaborate effectively with surgical teams and contribute to patient treatment plans

Qualifications

  • Must be a Certified Physician Assistant with an active CA license and DEA
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in surgical settings required
  • Strong operational familiarity with the OR and independent inpatient experience
  • Robotics experience and certification preferred
  • Must have completed at least 25 general cases and 5 OR cases

Working Hours

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: Varied shifts, including block days for major cases
  • Tuesday, Friday: Approximately 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with potential early completion by 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Skills

  • Proficient in surgical assisting with strong OR skills
  • Ability to manage a variety of patient interactions efficiently
  • Skilled in the use of surgical equipment and patient management systems
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to support surgical teams
