Thoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA)
Location: Rochester, MN
Department: Surgery – Thoracic Surgery

Position Overview
This Thoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider role offers the opportunity to work within a highly collaborative surgical team providing comprehensive care for adult patients undergoing complex thoracic procedures. The APP functions with a high level of autonomy while working closely with surgeons, fellows, residents, nursing staff, and allied health professionals across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Clinical Responsibilities
* Perform independent preoperative assessments
* Coordinate perioperative patient care
* Manage postoperative patients in clinic and hospital settings
* Admit, round on, and discharge hospitalized surgical patients
* Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic studies
* Diagnose conditions and develop treatment plans
* Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies
* Provide patient and family education throughout the surgical course
Schedule
* Weekday coverage
* Rotating Saturday coverage
* Inpatient and outpatient responsibilities
Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner
* Master’s-prepared graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
* Current Minnesota RN and APRN license
* Certification as FNP, ANP, ACNP, or AGACNP
Physician Assistant
* Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
* Current NCCPA certification
* Registration with the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice
Additional Requirements
* BLS certification required
* DEA registration required
Compensation & Benefits
* Base salary range: $117,520.00 – $163,987.20 (based on education and experience)
* CME allowance of $4,400 annually
* Up to 7 CME trip days for benefit-eligible employees (50–100% FTE)
* State license renewal fees
* DEA license renewal fees
* Required professional certification and recertification fees
* Professional membership dues and journal subscriptions
* Conference and continuing education registration fees
* Annual mobile device for patient care purposes
* Relocation assistance available for candidates residing 70+ miles away
