Locums Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Locums Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join a busy orthopedic service in Coos Bay, OR. This role offers a mix of operating room, inpatient, emergency department, and call coverage in a collaborative hospital-based setting.

Position Details

• Schedule Options:
  • 4x10-hour shifts or 5x8-hour shifts
• Call Requirements:
  • 1–2 nights per week
  • Every third weekend
  • Night, weekend, and holiday call coverage required
• Weekend Requirements: Yes

Responsibilities

• Order and interpret diagnostic studies including X-ray, CT, MRI, EMG, and bone scans
• Perform orthopedic procedures such as digital blocks, joint injections/aspirations, closed fracture and dislocation reductions, casting, splinting, wound care, and minor outpatient surgical procedures
• First assist in orthopedic surgeries, including tissue closure and application of orthopedic appliances
• Provide inpatient care, conduct hospital rounds, write orders, and complete histories, physicals, and discharge summaries
• Serve as primary orthopedic call for Emergency Department and inpatient services and participate in weekday, weekend, and overnight call rotation

Requirements

• Board Certified Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
• Active Oregon state license
