Join Our Team as a Locum Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Orthopedic in Coos Bay, OR

As a vital member of our team, you will collaborate closely with attending physicians to deliver comprehensive patient care, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and respond to clinical emergencies. Required Skills:
  • Proven experience in orthopedic surgery, including assisting in procedures such as tendon repairs, wound management, fracture reductions, and soft tissue closures.
  • Proficiency in ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies like EMG, X-ray, MRI, CT scans, and bone scans.
  • Skill in performing minor outpatient procedures, joint and bursa aspirations, injections, and applying splints, casts, and braces.
  • Ability to serve as primary orthopedic call, respond effectively in emergency situations, and work independently.
  • Strong documentation skills with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience in hospital rounds and participating in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with advanced imaging modalities.
  • Prior experience in a locum or agency staffing setting within orthopedic surgery.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Valid Physician Assistant license in Oregon.
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in orthopedic surgery or related specialty.

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to work varied shifts including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and overnight call rotations.
  • Successful completion of all applicable background checks and credentialing processes.
  • Availability to commence assignment starting 02/16/2026.
