Required Skills:
- Proven experience in orthopedic surgery, including assisting in procedures such as tendon repairs, wound management, fracture reductions, and soft tissue closures.
- Proficiency in ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies like EMG, X-ray, MRI, CT scans, and bone scans.
- Skill in performing minor outpatient procedures, joint and bursa aspirations, injections, and applying splints, casts, and braces.
- Ability to serve as primary orthopedic call, respond effectively in emergency situations, and work independently.
- Strong documentation skills with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience in hospital rounds and participating in multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with advanced imaging modalities.
- Prior experience in a locum or agency staffing setting within orthopedic surgery.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Valid Physician Assistant license in Oregon.
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in orthopedic surgery or related specialty.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work varied shifts including weekdays, weekends, holidays, and overnight call rotations.
- Successful completion of all applicable background checks and credentialing processes.
- Availability to commence assignment starting 02/16/2026.
