Join Our Cardiovascular Surgery Team as a Locum Physician Assistant (PA) in Lansing, MI – Exciting Opportunity for Experienced Providers!

We are currently seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant (PA) to provide specialized support in a high-volume, Level 1 Trauma Center environment. This locum position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to life-saving cardiovascular and vascular patient care while enjoying a flexible schedule and competitive compensation.

In this vital role, you will assist with patient rounds and support cardiac and vascular surgeons in a fast-paced setting, focusing exclusively on rounding without involving OR responsibilities. The position starts February 1, 2026, and is ideal for providers seeking a rewarding, flexible assignment supporting a top-tier surgical team.

Required Skills:
  • Valid Physician Assistant license in Michigan
  • prior experience in cardiovascular or vascular surgery preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient management skills
  • Ability to work independently during weekend shifts
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR system

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience in ICU or surgical rounding
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Familiarity with trauma patient care

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in surgery, ICU, or cardiovascular settings
  • Prior locum or temporary healthcare assignment is a plus

Other Requirements:
  • Availability for 4-day, 10-hour shifts starting February 2026
  • Willingness to be on call 1 in 4 weeks, including night and weekend shifts
  • Must possess current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Ability to handle patient caseloads averaging 15-30 patients per day, including discharges and ICU rounds
  • Must comply with all hospital policies and state licensing regulations
