Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery – Albuquerque, NM

Experience Required
Position Overview:
Surgical First Assist NP or PA skilled in endoscopic vein harvesting
Inpatient-only, single-specialty group
First assist for eight Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons in the OR
Rounding on cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients
Weekend rounding and rotating evening call with additional call pay
Full-Time position (1.0 FTE)
Practice Details:
Join a team of 36 physicians, 7 Physician Assistants, 14 Nurse Practitioners, and extensive support staff
Hospital Location: Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center
Onsite testing available: Echo, Vascular, Nuclear, and CT
Three procedure rooms onsite
Daily patient load: 4–10 patients (varies)
Q4 call coverage with excess call pay
Approximately one weekend of call per month (4–10 patient encounters during call)
EMR: Epic
Ambience AI scribe technology to reduce documentation burden and improve workflow
Minimum Requirements:
Board-Certified First Assist PA or Nurse Practitioner
Minimum of 1+ year of endoscopic vein harvesting experience and/or certification required
Team-oriented and teachable mindset
