Job description

Critical Access Hospital offers surgical services in orthopedics, gynecology, ENT, general surgery, and related lines like ophthalmology and endoscopy. Expect 2-3 cases per day based on volume in this rural Level III Trauma Center. Schedule runs Monday through Friday, 7:30a-4p, with occasional post-op rounding or consult assists if patients admit.

Surgical Service Lines

Hospital performs procedures across these areas:

  • Orthopedics: Joint repairs, fractures in trauma context.

  • Gynecology/OB: Deliveries, hysterectomies, minimally invasive.

  • ENT: Tonsillectomies, sinus surgeries.

  • General Surgery: Hernias, gallbladders, broad disease interventions.

  • Others: Ophthalmology, endoscopy, ambulatory multi-specialty.

Schedule and Volume

Work standard daytime hours, Monday-Friday 7:30a-4p. Handle low-moderate volume of 2-3 surgeries daily, allowing focused assists. Assist rounding on admitted post-op patients or handle consults as needed.

Compensation

Base starts at $160K, scales with experience for seasoned CSFA/CSA. Fits nonprofit rural pay in Adirondack region, supporting work-life balance with predictable caseload.
